Desexing your pet has numerous health benefits and helps to reduce the number of unplanned puppies and kittens ending up in animal shelters. Desexing is a routine surgical procedure that prevents your pet from being able to reproduce.

Our experienced veterinarians perform desexing surgery on dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Some of the benefits of desexing include:

    • Reducing the risk of certain cancers
    • Eliminating the risk of uterine infection and pyometra (a life-threatening infection of the uterus)
    • Reducing roaming behaviour
    • Reducing the number of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens.

We recommend desexing cats from as young as fourteen weeks of age and dogs from as young as five months of age.

  • Orthopaedic

At Orchard Hills Veterinary hospital, we routinely perform a wide variety of Orthopaedic surgeries. Whether your pet has a torn cruciate ligament or a dislocated knee cap, our experienced surgeons are here to help. We also regularly perform femoral head and neck excisions, as well as fracture repairs.
